Oracle Exadata is an excellent, very high speed (In terms of compute power, disk read writes and network latency) product, designed by Oracle for maximum throughput and minimum latency on Oracle databases. Exadata is a combination of highly optimized compute and storage hardware together. This is an ideal product for load intensive applications.
ExadataStorage Servers are the storage platform itself which runs Oracle cell services software (cellsrv).
Storage servers used in the Exadata Rack are called as Cell. Exadata Storage cell is used for making storage GRID.
Competitors to Exadata in market have proprietry, complex and highly expensive infrastructure, where Oracle Exadata takes
advantage as it uses industry standard Oracle Database, which is easy to migrate from any platform.
